I have never done a snowshoe to Trillium Lake before. It was never on the Mazama list of places to go. Lori expressed a desire to do it so today, with not the best weather conditions, we did it. This was an easy snowshoe at about 4 miles and 400 ft. total gain. We just snowshoed down the road to the viewing platform at the lake edge and returned. There was about three inches of fresh snow down on the road so no crunching today. It was a blustery day with fine snow blowing but we also had a couple of sun breaks. Afterwards we went once again to Smoky Hearth for beer and to try some new items from there menu.
