We took advantage Sylvia having the coastal cottage for another week to return to the coast for our hike. This time we did Indian Beach trail at Ecola State Park. This trail had a major rerouting after the old trail lost a major section in a landslide. So not as many coastal views but you now go through some great old growth Sitka spruce forest. There are some of rare old monster tree left in this area. After the hike we went back to the cottage for pizza, beer and munchies. A couple of extras we had on this outing was seeing a herd of elk by the road side going into the park and a whale spouting while having our beer on the deck.
Indian Beach Trail round trip 5 miles and 1100 ft. Total gain.
