This time out Lori, Sylvia and I did a little walk in the woods up Herman Creek Trail. This trail was always a nice “walk in the woods” hike and now it is in the forest and recovering forest. We went up to the waterfall on Camp Creek and past it a little ways to where the oak tree grove was. The grove got wiped out in the fire but new growth is coming up from the roots. You are able to Woolsey Horn from here and we found it to be exactly three miles from the parking lot and close to a 1000 ft. elevation gain. Weather started out in drizzle but ended in mostly sunny.
After our hike we went to Thunder Island Brewery for food and beer. They have a great outside deck with views of the river and lots of fresh air.
