Oxbow Regional Park

In all my years in Portland and all my years hiking I have never before visited this popular park. The park is on the banks of the Sandy River. When formed it was way out in the country but over time the suburbs almost come to meet it. Lori has been here several times so she was our guide and Sylvia and I joined her. The day was one of the hottest we have had this summer and that encourage us to shorten our hike. That and 100s of small children in summer camp programs that blocked our way on our lower loop. I found out way this hike is done in winter. We did 6.3 miles and about 600 ft elevation gain. We had lunch at a new place in Troutdale.
