With stormy weather predicted Jeanette and I decide to do road trip to the coast rather then a hike. We headed out 26 for a first stop a Seaside. We got there when there was a gap in the rain and did a walk on the promenade and the beach. From there we head up the coast to Fort Clatsop. I had not seen the new replica fort since the old on burned down. From there we were ready for lunch and headed in to Astoria to try Buoy Brewery. Good beer, not the best food but the views of the river were the best. To finish our tour we stop in a the Flavel house almost at closing time. I have wanted to visit this place for 35 years so even though our visit was short I finally got to see it. Sunset and the next heavy set of rain and wind arrived so it was time to head for home.

We did a drive over to the coast in pouring rain to our first stopping spot a Seaside.

We stopped in to see the replica of the salt making works that Lewis and Clarke used.

We walked up the promenade with the wind to our face and back down the beach.

The wind was blowing the sand around on the beach.

We stopped in to see the Fort Clatsop visitor center and fort recreation.

We did a quick walk through of the Visitor Center before heading for the fort.

This is the replica of the fort that the Lewis and Clarke expedition winter in.

The place was cold and wet for the winter over.

We stop in for lunch. Great view of the river a pub prices.
