I got out for a hike on Mt. Hood. I did trails up to Heather Canyon and then off trail to Newton Clark Glacier. The off trail started where Heather Creek crosses Timberline Trail. I first go up Heather Canyon then split off a side canyon that goes by a ghost forest. I made my way to the ridge next to the upper part of Heather Canyon and follow it up to the Glacier. I did not have pointy things to put on my boot and there were some not nice fall lines so this was where I stopped. A long day on the mountain.
I started this adventure leaving from the Elk Meadows Trails head. I was on the Trail at 8:30 am.
There is a nice bridge still in place over Clark Creek.
From Elk Meadow Trail I turned onto Newton Creek Trail and started climbing.
