This time out it was time once again to hike the waterfalls section of the Lewis River Trail. It has been 10 years since I was last hiked here and this time I was with Lori and Sylvia. Our timing allowed us to see the falls at full force and before the new limited parking program was to take effect. We had good hiking weather but found the mileage report were wrong. The guide books put this hike at 6.6 miles round trip but my GPS put it at 9.4 miles and total elevation gain over 900 ft. The mileage on the posted signs were even further off. It made for a longer day then we had planned.
After the hike we stopped in at the Cougar Bar & Grill. I found the food good, the service good but slowly came to realize we were in MAGA hat country so we had to tone down our conversation until we left.
