Lori, Becky and I headed for the mountain to try to escape the 100 degree day in Portland. We went to the east side of Mt. Hood to do the Tilly Jane trail up to find some snow. This is a hike with a good amount of up and passes through the Gnarl Ridge Burn. The trail ends at Tilly Jane historic camp area and there is a cut off trail that proceeds on up to the Copper Spur Trail and the Timberline Trail. It still was a warm day but that also brought out the wildflowers on our way back. We made it up to the Timberline trail and turn around there. About 7 miles and 3000 feet elevation gain.
