I have been wanting for a while to get over and check out a short connector trail that has been added to Washougal’s Columbia Riverfront Trail. This connector now allows you to hike and I think bike six different connecting trails safely. Today we were starting at the Washougal Waterfront Park and then connecting to the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail both now park of the Towns to Trail system. After weeks of rain we lucked out with weather with no rain and no wind at all. The water on the Columbia River was like a mirror. The connector trail ends a Steamboat Landing where we picked up the L&C Heritage Trail. We did our turn around with a small loop through Capt. William Clarke Park. It was cloudy so no view of Mt. Hood today. After our walk we went over to the Puffin Cafe locate on the water at Washougal’s boat basin for a bit to eat. A lot of character to this place.
