I got out this weekend for a shack down cruise backpack up Herman Creek to Cedar Swamp. Dinah and I got invite along with Randy and his crew, Silvia and Monica, for a weekend outing. Randy’s plan for the three-day weekend was to do the Herman Creek/Benson Plateau loop. I really want to do this loop someday. This was Dinah’s first backpack ever and I have not been out over night in a long time so we opted for just an overnighter to test things out. So we accompanied Randy’s groups to Cedar Swamp for our one night out. Cedar Swamp is a beautiful place in the woods and we did a leisurely campout. The next morning Randy, Monica, Silvia and the dogs continued up Herman Creek Trail and Dinah and I headed back.
