Got out for a flower hike with Jeanette. Great weather and caught the flowers at their peak. The hike begins at the Memaloose overlook. The trail is just across the road from the sign. It starts on in oak savanna with abundant flowers blooming under oak trees just starting to bud out. The trail ends up at a junction where it splits. We first went to east to Marsh Hill and found great views and balsamroot in full bloom. From here we backtracked to the junction and followed the other trail west to Chatfield Hill. We found even a better display of flowers here and views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. After sitting for a while with other hikers enjoying the warm sun and views we returned to our car.
