I got out for a walk in the woods on Sunday. The day started out with a light rain but cleared up later. This is my favorite walk in the woods trail. It is a nice gradual climb up to Cedar Swamp Camp on a good trail. The hike passes three waterfalls and many small stream crossing. The trail goes through sections of old growth forest. Cedar Swamp is a unique eco system with large ancient cedar trees and some nice large patches of skunk cabbage. The return trip is nice as the gradual down hill is easy on the knees and puts a spring in your step.
14.6 miles, 2640 ft gain, 7 hours on the trail.
