Our hike conditioning group got out for a modest hike up Gnarl Ridge on Mt. Hood. This is always a beautiful hike. The bear grass with in full bloom and bloom phlox was everywhere. This was the group’s first time up on Mt. Hood and the first time to get up close to 7000 elevation. This hike also added in some other interesting elements with a stream crossing and a side trip to Elk Meadow. We had great weather for the hike. The hike was about 11 miles and 2700 ft. Total elevation gain.
