Devil’s Rest Hike

It has been a while since I had been out for a solo conditioning hike so I thought I would do something close to home. Angles Rest is the second most popular hike in the Gorge but few folks venture beyond it. It is when you head beyond it you leave the crowds behind and as I found out most of trail maintenance. Turn off onto Foxglove Way you start the assent up to Devil’s Rest. I have never seen the trail so brushed over in my 18 years of hiking this trail. After getting to summit with no view I came back by way of Devil’s Fork and a connector trail I have not used before. Even though the condition of the trail was bad the Trails signs were the best I have seen. The hike by the number – Distance: 8 miles, Elevation Gain: 2480 ft. and about 4.5 hours on the trail.
