We had a great sunny warm weekend and Lori and I wanted to take advantage of it so we headed out for a hike of Cast Creek Trail (10.4 miles round trip and 2400 ft. gain) by Mt. Hood. This was a trail I had not done before so part of the hike was an exploratory. The other part was that we had not gotten for a hike with elevation and distance for a long while so we need a workout. The trail is cut for horses so it is a good wide trail with lots of gradual switch backs. It is a walk in the woods trail to a view spot a of Mt. Hood and connecting to ZigZag Mt. Trail.
